So you are marketing your capture pages and generating leads, now what do you do? Just what are the most effective techniques to follow up with your MLM leads to start generating profits and create real results?
How to Follow Up With Your MLM Leads
It’s Best to Use The Phone
Here’s the deal, if you simply can’t or don’t follow up with your MLM leads or prospects, you are probably missing out on 80% of the people you could be recruiting into your MLM business.
Everyone is searching for the magical recipe to create emails to influence people to sign up in your business on total autopilot.
Now there is a great deal of room for automation and marketing but we still have to get you over the fear of picking up the telephone and talking with real live humans.
There is no magical recipe. This business is all about relationships.
Lest you have an unlimited amount of leads and you are exceptionally good at video and copywriting, don’t even assume you can legitimately build a home-based business without having to speak to people… At least in the beginning.
Look, I know people who can and do generate 500+ leads a day and still pick up the phone or their assistants pick up the phone.
I’m talking from practice, experience, and years of frustration, and I’ve been able to generate a respectable income by connecting with real live people.
What are you afraid of? Being rejected? Well if you are doing it in a specific way that I’ll teach you, you won’t experience any rejection.
First no one rejects YOU, they may however, reject the opportunity or simply reject that the timing isn’t right.
But you are speaking to them not to make a sale no matter what they might say. No! That is not how you follow up with your MLM leads.
You are speaking to them in order to connect and understand exactly what they are struggling with and what they want, need, or desire and honestly help them.
Listen, if people actually leave you their phone number, they actually want to talk to you!
They are actually begging for you to call them, if not, they would never give you their actual phone number.
They are saying “Please Call Me!” they need and want your help!
Don’t be a careless marketing professional and not call them. You will be amazed that people will say or think “I can’t believe you called me, this guy on the Internet… Wow!”
And when you do call them, simply say something along the lines of:
“Hey, I saw you visited my website, nice to talk with you. I simply wanted to give you a call and see how I can best help you. How’s it going?”
You see how simple it can be to follow up with your MLM leads. It’s easy!
If you are promoting a capture page without a phone number or they simply don’t leave you a phone number, then it’s up to you to do whatever it requires to connect with them and have them give you their phone number.
Ask them in the email if they are interested in making money online? “Are you interested in learning how to generate leads online? If so reply YES.”
Then send them a new, more personal email and ask them for a phone number and assure them you are going to call them.
Get on the phone with the real person! Follow up with your MLM leads!
However, don’t be desperate and dive right into sales pitch mode. Don’t ask them “are you looking for a company to join?”
Also, if you plan on asking them about their network marketing company, prepare yourself because they are more than likely going to go into a sales pitch mode on you.
“Yes, I’m with this company, its ground floor opportunity, I’m working with all these people making millions and millions of dollars a minute, etc…”
You are not going to close someone who is already sales pitch mode themselves. Rather…
Find Their Want, Need, Pain Points, Problems & Their Core Desires
Be sincerely interested in THEM! Find out exactly what are they struggling with, where they are coming from, and if there truly is a need.
They on the other hand, are not going to be interested in YOU meeting your sales goals or what exactly your business through all of its intricate details.
They however, want to see if you in fact an EXPERT in your industry, that you are confident in what you are doing, and if you can legitimately help them accomplish their goals, that’s it.
They want you to LISTEN. They want to reveal their pain points, their struggles, and what their dreams are. They want a person to listen to them and help guide them to success.
LISTEN to them. Pay very close attention.
Develop rapport and ask the right questions. Constantly leading them and having control of the conversation by asking questions.
Your goal is to get them to talk as much as possible. After listening I might ask them some questions such as:
- What has recently changed in your life that has you open to starting a home-based business?
- Are you getting the leadership and support in your current company that you feel you need?
- How are you doing with generating your own leads online?
If there is no need, then you should not present them with an opportunity.
If there is no fit to working with you, then hold your posture. Always value your personal time.
Uncover their core desires, what do they want? Why are they in the business in the first place? If they made X amount of money, how would their current circumstances change?
The goal, again is to get them to talk which helps me with enough information to know which direction to move them toward.
If I feel they might be a good fit with my primary company, I may suggest they go and watch my recorded presentation and follow up with me.
It’s a fact that 99% of people in home-based businesses are fighting an uphill battle to generate leads online.
So if you are able and do ask this question and can be a go-to solutions provider, you are going to knock it out the park.
Suppose you said, “Well would you like to learn the exact skills that I learned that has allowed me to reliably generate leads online?”
Obviously, if they are truly wanting to succeed in their business, will say YES.

You see how easy it is.
Here is another suggestion to ask them:
“Based on what you’ve told me (try to pick out 2 to 3 things based on what they told you i.e. pain points, struggles, desires), you might consider taking a look at this, BECAUSE…”
See how NON-SALESY that is… Remember, you talking to them as a solutions provider.
You simply recommended them something centered on what they have already told you they want, need, or desire. You are a trusted adviser.
And you have actually given them reasons as to WHY they should take a look at it and WHY they should team up with you.
Listen to their voice and response and simply feed it back to them.
