“How do I find trending content to blog about?”
Or, “How do I find trending content to post on Facebook?”
If you’re like everyone else trying to increase your social presence – then you NEED a never ending flood of high quality, value-added content to share with your fans.
And you need to find trending content that is relevant and appropriate for your specific niche…
For instance, if you’re a massage therapist running your very own massage therapy business, you need amazing content on, you guessed it, massage therapy.
Your fans and customers ‘Liked’ your Facebook fan page because they’re interested in massage therapy and they desire terrific content on that particular topic.
Social comes down to one thing and one thing only — sharing. And your social presence is determined by these two things.
- Content You Create
- Content You Curate
And the right balance of the two is essential.
Actually, it has been said that businesses that share a combination of unique and curated content generate more click-throughs and leads compared to those that just create content or simply share content.
Why should you have a balance? Simple. They both serve a different purpose. Let’s break it down.
Content You Create
The unique content you create, such as this blog post for example, works its magic in a few different ways.
One, it drives web traffic back to your website from when you share it and from when others share it. That’s where your conversions and leads happen.
The tricky part with unique content is that it can take a toll on you. It’s time consuming, can be expensive if you’re outsourcing it, and occasionally misses the mark with your target audience.
However, the pros of unique content heavily outweigh this. Unique content is yours, you own it, you share it, and then others share it making it a powerhouse for marketing and lead generation purposes.
You need unique content. You need it desperately.
And for those times where you merely cannot get something out there fast enough, curated content can easily fill the void… As long as it is relevant to your target audience.
Content You Curate
Content you curate is also effective since it can make you a thought leader.
If used properly and has the appropriate voice and tone for your customers and target audience it can still be shared by others increasing your reach and relevance.
On top of this, sharing curated content gives you the chance to build meaningful relationships with various other content creators and influencers.
And the best type of curated content is trending content.
This is stuff that is currently being shared online. I have actually noticed when I share trending content vs any ol’ content, it gets more views, likes, engagment and shares.
This is the sweet spot.
So how do you find trending content?
