You might be able to relate to my story. In truth, I am willing to put myself out there and assume that we are probably a lot alike.
You are probably already sold on the idea of Network Marketing or MLM, and perhaps you’ve already selected a great MLM business.
You know the product line in and out, the comp plan, and have maybe even established some rock-solid goals for what you want to achieve for yourself and your family.
However, you might also be thinking about throwing in the towel and are about ready to say, “THE HELL WITH MLM!”
Talking to family and friends has left you really feeling irritated, frustrated, and like you’re never going to get your business off the ground.
You might have already tried running some Facebook advertising or bought some “business opportunity leads” just to find some tire kickers and people actually looking for a job and not a business.
Or even worse, somebody who doesn’t even recall asking for information about a home-based business opportunity.
You sponsor probably told you to use the “three foot rule” and go out talking to every person you saw; placed flyers on car windshields and even put up some handouts downtown.
And, if you are like me, you might have discovered these tactics to be a VERY slow maddening process.
This blog post will help you with some basics of what you can do when it comes to getting yourself out there as well as MLM lead generation.

Getting Yourself Out There
You should first understand that there are 2 strategies for getting your product, service, or opportunity in front of other people.
These 2 strategies are marketing and prospecting.
Marketing implies you’re doing something or taking actions that you optimistically hope an unknown individual reacts or responds to. That’s marketing.
Prospecting on the other hand is what most network marketing companies teach, where you’re personally connecting with an individual, online, offline, cold market, or warm market.
Put simply, it’s the act of engaging and connecting with a person and having an individual conversation with that said person.
The 2 ways that you get yourself out there in the big strategies is marketing and prospecting.
The question you are perhaps asking now is, “Well, what are the most effective ways for me to get myself out there?”
But I need you to slow your roll for a sec… Why?
Simply getting yourself out there isn’t really enough. Because you are looking for real results… right?
With any luck you’re actually asking, “Hey, how do I get more results?” and not just “How to get yourself out there?”
Doing whatever you can to simply try to get yourself out there can easily cause you to lose a lot of money if you don’t know what you’re doing.
And unless you have the budget of Gary Vaynerchuck or Apple, then you can’t, or at least I don’t recommend merely spending money to advertise yourself on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Ads… and so on; you need to be smart about it.
MLM Lead Generation
When we, Kim (my wife) and I, first started, we would do a blog post each and every single day that would share something that either Kim or I learned or something that we got from a book, webinar, or a training course.
We would share something of value to our target audience each and every single day, and we had a specific number of people that we would prospect likewise every day.
Now, due to the fact I don’t know your specific circumstances and don’t know how much time you can devote to your MLM business per day, I can’t give you a specific number for the people you should prospect every day.
That’s a number you need to work out on your own. But spending 10 to 15 hours a week is a respectable goal to shoot for in the beginning.
Rather, my recommendation is every day prior to your head hitting the pillow ask yourself, “Did I create or publish a piece of value-added content for that day?”
If you actually didn’t, shoot a quick video with your smartphone, post it to Facebook, and get yourself out there.
Now most folks will say something like, “Well, what do I talk about? What do I produce a video about?”
It’s simple really. Create a video about something that you’ve actually learned. And then share it.
If you’ve read a book or a chapter in a book recently and you got some valuable info from it and it’s relevant to your target audience… share it.
Maybe you got an idea from the newest Facebook cheat sheet you downloaded and are using it and seeing some results… share it.
Go dust off those notes from the last company event or latest webinar you attended… share it.
Those notes that you scribbled down are merely uncashed checks waiting to be published on your blog or Facebook status update.
Inject that value-added information out there to the marketplace and start attracting more people to you and get yourself out there.
Now here’s where many new MLMers will stop and I will straight up tell you, in the beginning… it is not going to happen for you overnight.

The very first 6 months of doing blogs or video blogs wasn’t working for MLM lead generation – at least the way we believe it was going to happen…
Sure, the occasional brand-new MLM leads would dribble in, but nothing really solid.
Yet now, we just don’t have a month where we don’t get at least 200+ leads.
Why? Because we’ve actually been consistently publishing blog posts and creating videos for the past 6 months.
You know… the whole “Getting Yourself Out There” for MLM Lead Generation thing actually works if you know how it works.
That’s the type of mindset you need to embrace.
If you are looking to get yourself out there, I’m not going to lie to you and claim that I know the secrets to blowing up your MLM business by tomorrow.
Conversely, I can however show you lots of skills and ways to gradually start getting yourself out there and attract even more people to you by simply providing daily value every day.
